Katie Whorton -Youth Director
Greetings! My name is Katie and I am so blessed to serve as the Middle School Youth Director at PCUMC. I grew up at Ashland UMC in St. Joseph and have always been blessed by a church family. My parents were active in church as a child, and I found that the "church habit" was hard to break as a young adult. My grandfather was a Methodist Pastor and taught at St. Paul School of Theology until he passed away in 2007. God has led me into my calling with you people through my family and friends. I have a Bachelors in Theatre/Dance and English Education and a Master's Degree in Administration. I love school, and hope to go back someday! My husband and I came to Platte City in 2008 and own a local business in town and we run dance, tumble, and martial arts programs there. We have the cutest puppy in the whole world, no kids, and we like it that way! We have been so blessed by our community and love the opportunity to serve Platte City. Every morning I start my day is a reminder of God's promise for my life from Romans 8:28: "For God works all things out for the good for those who love Him and live according to His purpose." I hear God call me every day to do His work. Some days I am more successful than others, but I am a work in progress. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a part of our incredible church family.
